Haiti Team

Dear YPIC members and Friends,
By now, all of you are aware of the terrible tragedy that has befallen Haiti. A devastating 7.0 earthquake of catastrophic proportions has destroyed most of the capital Port-au-Prince.  As the morning sets in today, we are sad to know that casualties will run high and the needs will be great.  Because of our trip to Haiti in October through The Haiti Expedition Project, we now have an intimate connection to Haiti and its people and know that all the needs we witnessed then have been magnified to catastrophic proportions today.
The THEP Crew and I have heard from a few of our contacts in Haiti and the news coming in from Haiti is not good and very limited.  Buildings have collapsed; the national palace is in ruins, the airport heavily damaged and phone service is completely down with sparse internet access.  As the day progresses, we hope to get a better understanding of the needs in Haiti.
Last night and today the entire THEP crew is actively looking for ways to support relief efforts and begin new fundraising initiatives. We continue to support our Haitian friends in this time of need and would like to ask for your support at this critical juncture.  If you would like to help and donate, please donate at:
Our prayers are with Haiti today.
Patricia Sacristan
YPIC Chair
